Somatic Survival Skills: 8-week groups on Strozzi Somatic Foundations
These are 8-week-long online small groups (4-8 people) which explore the principles and practices of somatics in the Strozzi/generative somatics lineage. There are two parts to most groups, each being 8 sessions long. You’re welcome to take Part 1 without continuing on to Part 2, but you’ll need Part 1 to be able to join a Part 2 group.
1:1 Coaching Sessions with Regan: For now, as part of the cost for the group, each group includes 2 one-hour individual coaching sessions with Regan for all participants (this may change in the future, as capacity allows).
Different Somatic Survival Skills Groups offered: I offer a few versions of this core curriculum, tailored to different communities or with different emphases, including:
- for folks with chronic pain, illness and/or disabilities
- for white-bodied people interested in exploring and beginning to transform embodied white supremacy
- for SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice) chapters
- for filmmakers or anyone working in the film industry
- for fat or larger-bodied people
- for everybody with a focus on resilience and connection in these extra-challenging times.
- If you’d like to create a specialized training for your affinity group, family or staff, please contact me.
In all of these Somatic Survival Skills groups, you will learn the tools to begin to:
* find your purpose * clarify and articulate your longings, values and vision * cultivate awe * ally with your body * increase your capacity to feel and be with sensations and emotions * transform embodied patterns that aren’t serving you * deepen in your dignity, relationships and resilience * take centered action toward what you care most about
You will learn body-based somatic practices which help us get to know our embodied patterns and to develop new skills or compentencies, like setting boundaries from a centered place, how to feel for center in times of transition, or deepening in a sense of mutual connection. All practices can be adapted to work for your body.

UPCOMING GROUPS:
Somatic Survival Skills for Unruly Bodies – For Folks Living With Chronic Pain, Illness, and/or Disabilities (Part 1)
Moving through this ableist world can often be an assault to our dignity and sense of inherent self-worth, to say the least, and can lead to a feeling of disconnection with the body. Learn about the transformative Strozzi approach to somatics through the lens of — and in community with people who are also — living in a cranky body. For anyone who identifies as chronically ill, sick, disabled, or living with chronic pain, this is for you/us!
Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm PT/ 7:30-9:30pm ET
Dates: Oct 9, 16, 23, Nov 6, 13, 20, Dec 4, 11.
Cost: I use the “green bottle method,” an economic justice tool that enables participants to adjust payment based on access to resources. There are three price points; please choose which reflects your financial reality best. Please read the description here to assess where you would fall on the scale.
- $495 – true cost of the class. If you are able to pay for “wants” and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, you have economic privilege and power in our community. This price is for you.
- $385 – mid-range
- $275 – lowest-range
Payment plans are available.
Registration is now closed for this group. We will be offering this again in the winter. Please sign up here if you’d like to be notifed when we announce the dates for the next group or if you would like to discuss running a group for your affinity group/org/family.
*Note: 10% of the money received for this group (and all of Welcome Home Somatic’s offerings) will be donated to the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band Land Trust, BOLD – Black Organizing for Leadership and Dignity and the Sameer Project, a Palestinian-led effort to bring food and medical aid to the people of Gaza.
Big Cranky Movement Club - Community Drop-In Spaces (Tues/Thurs/Sat)
Like a co-working space, these are virtual inclusive co-moving spaces! Co-hosted by fellow somatic practitioners Regan B and Lisa S, we offer three different groups, each following the same structure.

Big Fat Fun!
Tuesday’s group is open to anyone who identifies as fat or larger-bodied. 12-1pm PT/ 3-4pm ET.
Cranky Bodies Movement Club
Thursday’s group is open to anyone who lives with chronic illness, pain or disability. 12-1pm PT/ 3-4pm ET.
Big Cranky Recharge
Saturday’s group happens from 11-11:45am PT/ 2-2:45pm ET. This is a mash-up of Big Fat Fun and Cranky Bodies Movement Club! If you connect with the focus of either or both of the other two groups above (Big Fat Fun or Cranky Bodies Movement Club), then this is a space for you!
Basic flow: All three groups follow a similar flow. Each group kicks off with a brief check in, then a short somatic practice led by Lisa or Regan or a guest practitioner (which can be done seated, standing or lying down), followed by *self-directed time* where you can do whatever movement feels good to you, on or off camera, be it dancing, physical therapy exercises, house chores, or any other movements that you’re drawn to do. You’re also welcome to use the time to rest while being in community. The goal is to use the time listening to what would nurture your body most. Please note: This part is self-led, not a guided class. We’ll play some music to help keep us moving (suggestions very welcome) and then we come back together at the end and close out with a mini-dance party for a closing song. Dancing is totally optional and can be done seated, standing or lying down.
Everything is optional–you are encouraged to participate in the way that feels best for you: check in verbally or in the chat or not at all, join us for the grounding practice and dance party or skip them. There is never any pressure to turn your camera on or speak.
Cost: By donation. For the fall session, the suggested donation for each group you’d like to join is:
Attending one group per week = $50-75+
Attending two groups per week = $100-150+
Attending three groups per week = $150-$225+
Drop-in = $5/session
Find more information on the Pricing and FAQ page.
No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
